London living

Wow! It has been way too long since my last post and much has happened. I have settled into my new school now but I am still getting use to how things are done.  My blog is sadly blocked from the school server so I can not use it with my students.  I am very lucky to work alongside 3 other great teachers and we all teach the same year/grade. Here is some vocabulary differences that I am getting use to......

In my new school our school year is split up into 3 terms. Each term has a half term break which means that we get a week off school. Our half term break was last week so I went to beautiful Ireland. It was really exciting to visit ancient castles and to see mesmerizing scenic views.

P.s I am coming home for Christmas and I cannot wait :). 6 more weeks!

Hi all! 

Getting ready for the leap across the pond has made my summer fly by so far. Less than 2 weeks away from take off.  I'm trying to fit in as many goodbye outings and fun activities.

Clear Lake

I was lucky to be able to spend a day up in beautiful Clear Lake on Wednesday. We relaxed on the beach and even did some shopping!

Congrats grade 1 graduates

1k had a fantastic end to grade 1 with field trips to Splash Island and Morden's Dinosaur Museum. The last week flew by with tabloid day, a BBQ lunch with 4H and 2 days of water activities outside. Thank you for a fabulous year! Best of luck in grade 2. Please keep in touch.

I apologize presents will be sent home on Monday! After our move back to our classroom from the art room, they were misplaced. I found them this weekend and will be sent home tomorrow.

Recycled Art Projects

On Monday we ended off Earth month with gallery walk around the school to look at different recycled art pieces that our K-8 school created. We made watering cans out of milk jugs and wrappers. Take a look at our creative school!

Tech Savvy Miss Keeler

While you kidlets had the day off from school today, I was busy gathering new ideas for our classroom. It was so exciting to learn new things and can't wait to use them into the classroom. I went to 3 different sessions today: ipad apps, blogging and free resources online. I believe that I have officially caught the technology bug. I've spent time tonight updating our blog. There has been many new features added to the blog so take time to discover them. I can see it in our future that all 1K will soon be writing and blogging up a storm......... Stay tuned!


I hope to create fun learning experiences in the classroom..... making things fun. I believe in the FUN THEORY.

Short week of Feb. 20-23

We are busy getting ready for student led conferences next week. On Friday we concluded I Love to Read month with an assembly put on by 3P and 6P and PJ day. Respect winners were announced from 1K: Atli, Blake, Laila D, and Ryan. Congrats on all your hard work. At the end of the assembly we budded up with 6P and had a blast reading in the gym! 

                      We look forward to the month of March and all the numeracy activities planned! 

Feb. 13-17

We had a very busy week full of parties of learning. We celebrated Valentine's day with conversation heart graphing math, musical hearts, exchanged valentine's, had a fabulous spread of healthy snacks and a special small visitor....... What a great day! :)

On 100's Day we had another day full of learning. We started off with 100's Day math centers. The kids were very excited to for new challenges. We even made some funky 100's day glasses!
